Any fios employees out there?
I have a question for you…
I have fios and I first started with the regular HD box. I looked online and found a local seller selling his DVR box for 50 bucks, I purchased it.
I plugged it in and I get all the premium channels Hbo,Starz,Showtime,Playboy everything, I don’t pay for those services nor do any of the other televisions in my house have them.
It appears this guy forgot to call fios and tell them to deactivate the box and still has active service, he probably upgraded his DVR box which is why he sold me his old one.
My question is, is it even possible for Fios to catch on as long as this guy keeps paying for his service and doesn’t realize? It’s been about 6 months and I’ve had these and I’m really starting to enjoy the premium channels. Is this an oversight that’s likely to be found or is it impossible to catch since we both have fios service and it just looks like he’s still using that box?
I’m not an employee but I do have FiOS and know everything about them. Legally the guy doesn’t own the box he pays a monthly charge. Its Either that or its a fixed box which means someone hacked it to access al the channels and not paying for it. You have to contact FiOS and tell them what happened if they find out its like your purchasing stolen property since he has no right to sell the box. IF he did then they are stolen and your going to pay if Verizon finds out. If your honest with them it will sound like an honest mistake if not they can even press charges like the other cable companies do.
