News Flash: Showtime seriously considering a Super Six Classic tournament: Bantamweights, what do you think?

Now, the article states that Montiel, Darchinyan, Agbeko, Mares, Perez, and Donaire would be the appropriate parties. But, since Arum has already stated that a Montiel-Donaire (both Top Rank fighters) is very possible for fall 2010 – but I don’t trust anything that bastard says until that particular fight is made. Now, would you be interested in a 4-man contest with Mares, Perez, Darchinyan, and Agbeko. It’s weird since all four of those guys have fought one in the guy in the group. Does a 4-man tourney seem too simple and lame or is it good so that by the time the semi finals and finals are over, by mid 2011 we can see the Donaire-Montiel winner vs winner of the Showtime tourney and we can finally have one clear champ in the division? Thoughts, comments, concerns? God Bless!
I think it’s a great idea. This could bring some much needed exposure to a division that doesn’t get much.Who doesn’t want to see the best fight each other regardless of circumstance. It would also be a good idea to do this in other divisions for the same reasons, especially for the less popular ones. With all the failed negotiations and cherry picking and avoiding that has been going on in boxing over the last 15 years this tournament may be the only way to get the best to fight the best for certain.
