How come a civilization that made such wonderful gold jewelry, also made such crude, earthenware pots?
This question was posted by our history class teacher. He was talking about the displays that could be found in the Central Bank of the Philippines but the question does not necesarrily have to be in the Philippine context.
It is more of how one can think out of the box.
No matter how much gold you had back then, you still had to eat and cook over a fire.
Gold is a poor conductor of heat, earthenware products are good for cooking and storing food.
Gold was ornamental ( and precious), earthenware was practical.
