How should I prepare for mma?

Im going to start around July MMA, because we are moving to Fort Walton Beach this summer. And I was wandering how should get in shape for that. I'm doing now and weightlifting crossfit, I have some boxing gloves and wraps. What else should I do to prepare? Im kind of a big boy, I'm 6'2 "and 198 pounds and Ive got to lose fat. So, too, that the diet is good for MMA? Paleo?
