What happened to the original UFC?
Nowadays all UFC fighters seem to have the same fighting style (some kind of kick boxing mixed with wrestling..?). I was just watching UFC 1 fights on youtube and it used to be awesome with different fighting styles going against each other. Boxers vs Jiu Jitsu, etc, how much more entertaining is that!
It’s fair enough that they imposed some rules, like banning biting and groin shots, but why aren’t there different fighting styles going against each other anymore? I say bring back original UFC!
They singular styles that you saw in MMA are not effective against a fighter with well rounded skills. Gracie was able to win with BJJ back then because no one else knew BJJ. The first wrestlers were able to win because no one knew how to defend a take down. One dimensional fighters don’t make it to the UFC because there weaknesses are too easily exploited.
