potential value of 1,976 silver coins Wittnauer / medallion with two diamonds?
Hello! I am very new to the collection of coins and gave me the money Next / Medallion: Large, silver seems to be heavy: a woman who looks like the Statue of Liberty (but with a stick) with a star on one side and a sort of atomic symbol on the other side of it, in conjunction with small diamonds. The inscription reads: "Two centuries of Liberty, Peace, Progress 1776-1976." In the back are two men standing on either side of the Liberty Bell to July 4 is below them. Medallion is a beautiful and in pristine form, even in the original box (although the picture is a little beat up. Any coin / medallion collectors out there who can give me an insight into its worth it? I found online is nothing that diamonds are real and genuine silver. Thanks! I must say, the box says Wittnauer precious guild, manufacturers of Fine Arts medallic.
Wittnauer produced or had made medals at different times over the years from 1.960 to 1.970. The main problem with this type of element is that there are reference books out there and no one knows how many were made. Another problem is a medal not a coin. For everyone bicentennial seemed to have a numismatic item for the occasion. His article has little value to collectors with coin collectors because it is not a coin, and most collectors do not want that medal is due to diamonds. If it is a .999 ounce of silver then it is worth the value of silver $ 17 an ounce, less a% profit distributor and a jeweler can tell you about the diamonds. Sorry, this is the best I can do.
