Why children are sometimes so disrespectful?

I do not know what it is with children, but apparently have zero patience with them. I was in Jack in the Box this afternoon to order Sourdough Jack and root beer, and in the middle of the transaction a very energetic girl possibly Ukraine and Romania limited to registration and breaks the box as it is returning me my money. Starts splashing the cash with endless questions about an order that has not even been placed yet. Not to mention the fact that she was there, without warning, like a ghost, and certainly can see my frustration. At least with adults often announce their presence, walking slowly to the counter and stood there respectfully. Any idea why children do this repeatedly? Even ghosts seem to have a look respect when they announce their presence, but this particular child had no idea such a thing. Paul

Children are not fully formed brain as adults and so some concepts seem foreign to them. It is why adults have to take care of them! You could have handled gently but firmly, saying "what Sorry, but I was talking first "and then ignoring the protests.
