Boxers have been using skipping ropes as a training aid for many years. Skipping can be used for endurance work, developing short bursts of speed, coordination and foster a sense of rhythm.
Many great champions have used to jump the rhythm of live music. One of these champions were the "Sugar" Ray Robinson. You will find many movie clips of him jumping to the music, its rhythm and timing was notable.
Boxers usually warm up with jumping. Depending on the boxer and what level is less in his career, a heating can be as long as 20 to 30 minutes. During the jump, a boxer used different techniques like jump over the rope, double jumps, short sprints on the field, moving backward and forward, etc.
