Amatuer boxing opinions?

So my trainer says alot of amatuers dont fight with heart they fight to pad the score card , and since he is a pro boxer himself its hard to not believe him, but i cant seem to believe theres people out there like that hell he says most of them do that, hes training me to knock some ones face in , but also be quick enough to score , but he encourages me to train in power so i lift weights and the heavy bag is my friend , im not asking for advice , its why i pay the guy , im just wondering is amatuer is really that cheap?

Don’t worry about his comment, that is his views on some people and maybe he is not referring to all, because nobody will got a professional license without having involve themselves on any amateur fights.

If you do compete on some amateur competition, prove to him your worth that he is wrong on his assume, because you itself are not sure, if such is just his way of encouraging you to train more and dedicate yourself.

Just do your part, beside you are paying him to train you and give enough skills and knowledge for to achieve your main objectives.
