In the last twenty years there has been an increase in cross professional athletes in other sports. Some of these athletes were very successful. Others, not so much.

In 1992, former NFL pro Herschel Walker competed in the Winter Olympics in the sled and finished seventh in the two men. That same year, former NFL pro 49er John Brodie won a Senior PGA Tour golf. Danny Ainge was a former college basketball star batted.220 and scored two home runs while playing baseball for three years with Toronto Blue Jays.
