Marciano down only twice?
The only champion in the history of boxing to retire undefeated is Rocky Marciano, Heavyweight champ from 1952 to 1956. (49-0-0) I find that he was knocked down By Jersey Joe Walcott and also by Archie Moore. In the Moore fight I think it was more then once. Can anyone tell me the details, and any other time Rocky was down?
Also, notice this is about the former heavyweight champion, not the Hollywood fairy-tale fighter Rocky. So no answers like Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang etc.
Yes, he was down only twice. First by Jersey Joe Walcott then second by Archie Moore. He wasn’t hurt really because he got up almost immediately.
