Boxing Highlights Mayweather Mosley
Jul/070
Is the rematch clause on Mayweather-Mosley fight bad for boxing?
Mayweather-Mosley fight will be a great fight, it will be a highlight.
Mosley said Floyd was just forced to fight him so he will knock him out and then go to his original plan, a fight with Pacquiao.
But if there’s a rematch clause, who’s gonna fight against Pacquiao?
I know Mayweather-Mosley 2 will be another great fight and a rematch clause is typical but won’t it be greater if the winner of Pacquiao-Clottey and Mayweather-Mosley fights?
There are 3 guys that rules boxing right now and it seems to me they someone is denying us a Pacquiao fight. Let’s face it, if Pacquiao fights any of the two, it will be a world event, people all over the world will be watching.

If Floyd signs his contract (that is still being drawn) it has the option for an “immediate rematch”– this means if Floyd loses, his next fight is still against Mosley before going to any other opponent.
We’ll see– I will wait for the official announcement. Floyd has not signed yet. We know what happened the last time.
If Floyd loses to an old man– he can have his remtach; he won’t be an interesting opponent for Pacquiao anymore. Floyd is only interesting if he wins over Mosley– so, I won’t be worried about this rematch clause.
Pacman can still fight Berto or Margarito (but Margarito is too big at welterweight for Pacquiao)– or any other at jr welterweight or jr middle weight.
