Boxing Diets Fitness Exercise

What do I need to do to start kick boxing?
I’m 14 years old, about 117 pounds, and 5 foot 4.
Here lately I’ve really wanted to get into better shape, and be healthier, and i’ve decided I want to start kickboxing, it sounds like fun and its great exercise.
But my brother and my dad say I really need to train myself first, before i walk into a class the way i am now.
Im not very athletic, But I do take P.E. in school and run with my brother on the weekends sometimes, I’m really committed to this.
I was wondering if anyone has ever gone through this before and if they could help me out. Should I follow some sort of fitness schedule, or maybe a certain diet for this?

if your goal is to join a kick-boxing gm after getting to be in better shape then don’t practice kick-boxing at all just focus on your fitness. the reason for this is being far better to have to experience or knowledge of fighting then to have any bad habits which are harder to break than simply learning from the beginning.
As to what you should do for fitness…Running will be the best way to build stamina and endurance. Also swimming if you can will give your entire body a workout and make you leaner and stronger. Other than than do any and all exercises that do not include weight lifting. push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, knees-to-elbows (hang from pull-ups bar and bring your knees to your elbows)
