How do I make cupcakes more moist?
I’m making cupcakes using a box mix. What can I add in there to make them more moist? I’ve heard of people using mayonnaise, but I don’t really want to attempt that. What else can I use?
Use buttermilk inplace of the water called for and use an extra egg. A friend I worked with did this and she always brought the most fabulous cakes to work. She confessed to me that they were all mix cakes but she used buttermilk as the liquid and added an extra egg. Also, be sure and not let them over cook. If they look dry on top, they are over cooked. Use a toothpick and check one about 5 minutes before baking time is up.
