Boxing Chest Guards

I work as a janitor at a local nightclub in North Carolina. I boxed for 2 years and now I'm learning Kempo by an old coworker who has been in the Coast Guard and learned many martial arts. I'm learning a lot about my body. I weigh 230Ibs, but can not tell because I have the stomach (except for 1 inch and 1 / 2 apart my abdomen and stomach). I am muscular with a big chest. I've been watching a lot of videos from YouTube in the way of doing kip ups and I have not tried it yet. The closest I've come to try on the left my hands flat on the ground over my shoulder (which is difficult at this time). This week, I ask my sensei to teach me kip up. I think it would be nice if I fall at work and obtain to kip up. Have you had any luck with kip ups and if so, please provide healthy tips.

I discovered through trial and error. Any person who I know that can make all suggest slightly different angles to get up and out in what appears to be a very individual thing.
