help with these probability questions please?
can anyone show me the steps to solving these problems? if you can only help with one, that would be fine too. thanks!
you randomly select one card froma 25 card deck. find the probablilty of selecting a 3 or a jack.
a box contains 28 transitors, 6 of which are defective. if 6 are selected at random, find the probablity that
A) all are defective
b) none are defective
if you are given odds of 7 to 8 in favor of winning a bet, what is the probability of winning the bet?
That depends on what cards are in the 25 card deck.
1. 28 total, 6 are defective, all ways to choose 6 from this is 28 choose 6.
a) All are defective is easy: It’s just 6 choose 6 (ways to choose 6 things in 6 choices) / 28 choose 6 = 1/28 choose 6 = 1/376740
b) None are defective is just 28 – 6 = 22 choose 6/ 28 choose 6.
