what ever happened to edwin viruet?

Ive been going through the archives and watched a non title fight back in nineteen umteen between viruet and duran..
I never heard or the guy before and here was this dude with 29 fights under his belt was a regional champ and 3 pounds over weight and duran 2 pounds up against the most feared fighter of this era..I dont even know why this fight even took place but fukc(forgive the french)but fukc what a fighter and what a fight with duran winning closely on points?.
where did he come from and where did he go?
he was classy he was fast had speed could move like a dream sharp fearless could mix it up take a punch.
